There is no special discounted rate for this; the child is considered a separate passenger (adult) and will also have their own seat on the train and their own bed at the hotel. Please note: when booking additional children or infants, requests for specific accommodations with special facilities for children cannot be accommodated.

About the train journey

Currently, we only offer coffee and tea service in our comfort class. We sell hot drinks and water on board from 7:00 AM until one hour before arrival. There are no other catering or restaurants available. We therefore advise all passengers to bring sufficient food and drinks (especially drinking water) for the duration of the train journey.

No, our carriages are not new and are several decades old. However, they have been refurbished on the inside and of course they are cleaned and put in good condition before the start of every trip. In the luxury, premium and economy classes there are power sockets, as well as air conditioning. Despite the age of the carriages, in terms of fit-out and comfort they are comparable to common night trains in Europe.
Can I smoke on the train or during a stop along the way?

No, we have a strict no-smoking policy on our train, and smoke detectors are present in the restrooms, hallways, and compartments. There are no opportunities to get off the train and smoke during the journey. If you do choose to smoke on board, our crew will intervene and ask you to leave the train at the first opportunity, at least not accompanied by local authorities.

After checking in online, you will receive your boarding passes by email. They contain a QR code. You can print them or save them on your mobile phone. The QR code provides access to NS stations in the Netherlands. You can hold this QR code in front of the scanner to open the gate.

Yes, English-speaking stewards are present on board the train to answer all your questions and assist you where necessary during your stay on our train.

For operational reasons, we may need to make a change. Therefore, we always state that all departure and arrival times are subject to change. In most cases, if it happens at all, a change before departure will not deviate more than 60 minutes from the departure times you saw during the booking process. We will always send you an email to notify you of the change. During a long train journey, circumstances may arise that cause our train to arrive earlier or later at its final destination. The staff on board the train will, of course, keep you informed of this.

The size of the beds varies by travel class. The dimensions (L x W) are approximately as follows: Economy class: 190 x 60 cm, Premium class: 190 x 66 cm, and Luxury class: 197 x 79 cm.

If you don't choose this option, we'll do our best to seat you together, based on availability. Please note: this availability is often not available because our trains are almost always full. So, if you want to be sure you'll be seated together, make a seat reservation.

The cost varies by destination and travel group; you'll see this information when booking.

Whether bed linen is included in your package varies by provider and package. Please check this. Bed linen is not included by default for sustainability reasons: we do not want to burden the environment unnecessarily. You can choose to bring a sleeping bag and pillow, for example, or reserve a set of bed linens when booking. If you reserve bed linen with us, you will receive a clean, laundered set of bed linens and a pillow from us on both the outward and return journeys.

In our economy, premium, and luxury class, there are power outlets in all compartments. Economy and premium compartments have two power outlets, and luxury class has one. Therefore, you cannot connect a kettle, hairdryer, or other appliances that require more than 90 watts to the power outlets on the train.

No, you can choose a breakfast package when making your reservation. If you book this package, you will receive one on both your outbound and return journeys. There is a pick-up point on board our train where you can purchase hot drinks and light snacks in the morning. You can then reserve seats (up to 3 days before departure), book an upgrade, and add breakfast or bed linen to your booking. Check-in closes at 12:00 noon the day before departure. You must check in online; otherwise, you will not have a valid ticket and will not be able to board our train. Need help? Please ask for assistance in our live chat, located at the bottom right of your screen. You will receive your boarding passes by email immediately after checking in online. You can take these with you on your trip either digitally or printed. Currently, you only need to check in once per journey for your train journey: you also check in online for your return journey directly.

With an identity card or passport. Driver's licenses are not valid as travel documents within Europe. Your travel document must be valid when you travel (i.e., not within three months of your return). During your train journey, you can contact one of the stewards on duty. They are always available to assist you. If you have an emergency or irregularity at your destination, please contact our emergency number listed in your booking confirmation. We can then resolve the issue as quickly as possible, 24/7.

We do our utmost to ensure everyone's satisfaction. Is there anything not to your liking during your trip? Do you have any comments about the cleaning or are you missing something in your train compartment? Are you experiencing any inconvenience from fellow passengers? You must report this immediately to the service staff on board our train. If you do not report complaints immediately and do not give us the opportunity to resolve them immediately, which we always strive to do, you will not be eligible for compensation or reimbursement. The same applies to complaints during your hotel stay: report them immediately to the reception. If they do not resolve the matter satisfactorily, please call the emergency number listed in your booking confirmation. This gives us the opportunity to resolve the situation. If you do not call us, we will not be aware of your dissatisfaction and therefore cannot resolve it for you. Therefore, it is very important to contact us immediately.
Should you have a complaint or comment before departure or upon your return, you can submit it via our Live Chat service or by email. We can only process complaints if they are submitted to us via chat or email.

Unfortunately, our trains are not equipped for passengers with disabilities because they were built decades ago. Boarding also requires a short climb up a flight of stairs. The narrow aisles and toilets are also not suitable for wheelchair users. If this isn't a problem for you, you can bring a folding wheelchair or walker free of charge. Mobility scooters are not permitted.

If you depend on an assistance dog, you can bring it with you. However, we emphasize that regular pets are not permitted on board our train. You are responsible for your assistance dog's care. This means that you must be aware that it is not possible to walk your dog during our non-stop train journeys (which can last up to 21 hours). You must therefore make arrangements for your assistance dog to relieve itself: animal welfare is our top priority. We will try to offer you a private compartment at no additional cost, if still available, so you can travel with your assistance dog in a separate area. If this is not available and we are unfortunately unable to offer it (for example, because our train is fully booked), please be aware that you and your assistance dog will share a cabin with other passengers. If you absolutely do not want to travel in a cabin with other passengers, you can upgrade to a private compartment for a fee when making your reservation, subject to availability. This is, of course, not obligatory and is your choice.
